Seek those things which are above
An excerpt from a passage I have read multiple times.
The definition of seeking is to want or desire. The synonym of seeking is tireless.
If I was raised with Christ, I should tirelessly desire and want things above, where Christ is. By setting my mind on the things above, I am no longer just a fleshy being; I am a spiritual being. How I move and operate should no longer be on my accord but according to HIS will and plan for me.
Romans 8:10 tells us that if we live according to our flesh, we cannot please or satisfy God. A perfect example of how our life is no longer our own. By accepting Christ, we had to die! And now, our life should be completely hidden in Christ. Luke 9:23 states that for us to come after Christ, we have to DENY ourselves, take up our cross DAILY, and follow Him.
Denying ourselves can be hard at times, and sometimes the enemy likes to remind us of who we use to be before we started killing our flesh daily. However, do not listen to the lies and allow yourself to be pulled back in. You are no longer that person!
II Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become NEW!
I am no longer the same. YOU are no longer the same. No matter how many lies the enemy tries to feed you, no matter how much doubt may come from those who USE to know the old you. You are no longer the same; Our father has made you new. We are elects of God ( God’s elect “ἐκλεκτός” (Ek-lek-tos) in Greek means God’s chosen.
If I tirelessly desire the things of Christ and deny myself daily, my life will no longer look the same because I am a new woman. No longer do I walk in guilt and shame of my past, now I walk in love! Continuously giving Glory to God, doing nothing of myself but everything for His Glory!
Your life will be a testament to others. They will begin to see that we are His by the new fruit that we bear. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Remember to seek Christ & deny the flesh every day throughout this new year.
